Watched GHOSTS GALORE this evening, a very silly film but somewhat enjoyable, good to see Lo Lieh as the magic man.

Little slow to get going but gets there in the end. Like the mixture of people who pull together to help save the day. Sort of missed Lex Barker a little though. Like already sort of pointed out, some the winter style clothing worn by some of the characters was a little over the top for the warm weather.

What do you think of it? It's my third favourite film: if Welles's version had survived, I think it would hve been even than Citizen Kane.

Well, there's no doubt that it's a wonderfully made film. But it's not my kind of film. Good story though. Just not my cup of tea.

Scream of Fear (1961)
A nice little Hammer Production about a wheelchair bounded girl visiting her father after many years. At home she only finds her stepmother, the chauffeur Bob and a mysterious doctor.  They tell her that her father is on a business trip and will return soon. She soon finds her father dead in the house  but no one believes her ...
A fine B/W thriller with good actors. Christopher Lee has only a minor part as mysterious doctor and Susan Strasberg plays the girl in the wheelchair.  :)

Tuareg: The Desert Warrior 1984 Castellari
Took some films down, but only had the time to watch one and a half

This was a nice choice, a good film from Castellari. Keeping the always good tradition of North American actors to do the main parts in Italian productions, not so common this days, of course Harmon it's not Eastwood or Castellari Leone, but the film works fine.
Harmon was something of a odd choice to do the Tuareg Gacel part, but it works fine, he was relatively famous for the American market, but was not a big or known star, he wasn't much of an actor those days, even in films made for him like Presidio he's acting skills didn't impress much, but doing all those TV series with all the experience gained in the process he end up to transform itself in a professional and somehow charismatic actor, at least for TV.
But what impresses most in the film it's the story, and the political  environment  of it, Castellari was able to give great dynamic to the film, with a good plot and some nice scenes, some characters like the Antonio Sabato are a little unbelievable (too nice person to be true) but in general all things in the film are in it's right place, and the end it's far from being political correct one.
Even in the more Gung -Ho scenes the tuareg was a men not Rambo - By the way this film must have  been a major influence for Rambo II and III - but at least the Tuareg handles the heavy machine guns with both hands like it's supose to be. ImMo a better film than the Beast that deals with a similar issue but in the Russian/Afghanistan war

Well a nice film to watch with a good story great action scenes, very good photography, and ok i'm always saying this, they don't make it like this anymore.
