Story

After beating Bill San Antonio and "rescueing" the stolen gold (see Dio perdona... Io no!) Cat (Terence Hill) and Hutch (Bud Spencer) try to collect some money (say 300.000 dollar) from the partner of Bill San Antonio, a bank director who gave tips about gold deliveries. This bank director has no choice and has to give them the money. But while Cat and Hutch are enjoying their "earned" money, the bank director goes to visit Cacopoulos (Eli Wallach) in jail. Caco will be hanged the day after, but the bank director has a proposal. In exchange for his escape Caco has to kill Cat and Hutch. There is but one tiny problem. Fifteen years ago Caco robbed with three companions, Paco, Drake and that bank director a bank. The three others left Caco behind to stand against the posse. They got him, and Caco was convicted to 15 years hard labour in jail. Of course he wants revenge. He accepts the offer of his former friend, but kills the men who came to free him. Then he kills the bank director, and robbs the money from Cat and Hutch. As can be expected, it makes them mad. They pick up the trail of Caco, who went to Mexico, to find Paco. It's very frustating for both Cat and Hutch when they discover that Caco plays the generous gentleman of their money. They're eager to get Caco. On the road to El Paso they meet Thomas, a circus artist, whom they help against a couple of cowboys. In El Paso they make a deal with Caco. They'll help him killing Paco, and Caco makes sure that he get money from Paco, which means he can give Cat and Hutch their money back. Their 'help' results in involvement in a revolution, which you can't call a 'silent' revolution. There is quite some shooting before the rebels win. After which they convicted the survivors. However a problem arises when good old Caco kills Paco without asking him about money. Cat and Hutch (and the rebels) are furious at him. They capture him, but Caco escapes. Cat and Hutch follow again his trail. Every time they're too late, but then they find him: in a kitchen, doing the dishes together with another old friend, Thomas. They hear that Caco lost all his money (correction: all Cats and Hutches money) with gambling. And the boss of the gambling house is the last 'companion' of Caco: Drake. Cat and Hutch decide to help Caco once again. Also Thomas joins the team. They discover that the gambling house cheats via an intriging system. Plans are made to abuse this system to collect some money. They earn an initial sum when Hutch fights against a boxer and wins. Caco will play, while Cat, Thomas and Hutch will take care of the cheating system. After a tiny problem in which Caco has to gain some money, they start winning. Caco plays for number 13, and it's a 'miracle': he wins everytime. Drake and his men investigate it, which results in a fight, in which the people of the city learn about the cheating tricks of the gambling house. In a final shooting our four men (Cat, Hutch, Caco, and Thomas), defeat Drake and three of his men.
