Synopsis
Marty Hillman lives on a Texan ranch with his wife Kay. There is no harmony in the family, and Kay hates her husband. A young cowboy called Nebraska arrives at the ranch. He's quick with a gun, so Hillman hires him to help fight his archenemy Carter. Hillman finds one of his men killed and his cattle poisoned. In the saloon, he and Nebraska present proof and openly accuse Carter. The sheriff arrests three of Carter's men. Carter attacks Nebraska, but gets the worst of it and leaves swearing revenge. On the way back to the ranch, Hillman is hit by Carter's rifle. At the ranch, while Kay is curing her husband, she is attracted to Nebraska: he would make love to her, but is restrained by his moral values. Carter kills the sheriff, accusing Nebraska and Hillman of the murder. When the town's men reach the ranch, they only find Hillman wounded; Nebraska is gone. Nebraska captures two of Carter's men and forces one to confess the truth. He returns to town to prove his innocence. In the meantime, Carter and his men ride to the ranch to kidnap Kay. After a violent shoot out, Hillman and all of Carter's men are killed; Nebraska returns in time to save Kay by killing Carter. Kay burns the ranch down. She and Nebraska will build a new life together.
