Branko Špoljar was born in Zagreb, Austria-Hungary, on January 5, 1914. In a career lasting forty years, he appeared in six Western films, four of them adaptations of Karl May’s Winnetou books. He died in Zagreb, Yugoslavia, on October 27, 1985.
