English text:

People are dying in mysterious fashion on a ranch, breathing their last breath with foam at the mouth. The gunslinger Mike Wood is asked to investigate the case, but he disappears under mysterious circumstances. His brother Ringo is curious what happened to his next of kin, and while looking for answers, he'll be confronted with a dark family secret, an aggressive Indian and some voodoo dolls ...

Mickey Hargitay, who was supposed to be the star of the movie, disappears after ten minutes or so. The actor left the set in a hurry to join his son - who had been attacked by a tiger - in California. It drains this spaghetti western from all possible coherence.

The movie itself often looks as if it had been attacked by tigers too. It's no more than a series of vignettes thrown together. To create an idea of cohesion, the disjointed mess opens with a rather obtuse voice-over. Luckily it doesn't last very long.

No competence whatsoever is shown by any of the people involved in this movie. Mario Pinzauti's direction is not even remotely passable. There's no continuity either and because of its scanty means and settings the whole thing looks very poor. To make things worse, no effort is made to hide these shortcomings.

Okay, this Ringo adventure is an awful mess. But the slackness and lack of quality are redeemed by the weird ideas. Voodoo dolls: You don't see them very often in the Far West. And then there's this whodunnit plot which had me guessing what actually was behind all these bizarre proceedings.

So whatever this ultra-cheap western might be, at least it's not dull. Apart from this giallo-like plot (which isn't that special, by the way) there are enough fistfights and shootouts to pass the time. And what's more: with an alcoholic doctor and a gypsy witch who is totally bananas, the movie has a few memorable characters. Felici Di Stefano's score is also worth mentioning: it can hardly be called original, but it's very atmospheric.
