Cuban dancer, actress Chelo Alonso has passed away at her son’s Mentana, Italy home on February 20, 2019, at the age of 85. Alonso was born Isabel Apolonia García Hernández in Central Lugareño, Camagüey, Cuba on April 10, 1933. She emerged as a new exotic dancing talent at the Folies Bergère in Paris and was billed as the "new Josephine Baker", who had also performed and become famous at the Folies. Alonso was billed as the "Cuban H-Bomb", and mixed Afro-Cuban rhythms from her homeland with "bump and grind". She was first noticed internationally in the 1959 film, Nel segno di Roma (Sheba and the Gladiator), which starred Anita Ekberg and Georges Marchal. Owing to a particularly erotic dance number, her picture and name became more prominent on the movie's publicity posters than either of the two leads, much to Ekberg's dismay. After the death of her husband in 1986, Alonso moved to the city of Siena in Tuscany, Italy. She retired from film and started a cat-breeding business, as well as a four-star hotel. Alonso appeared in three Euro-westerns: “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly” (1966) as Mrs. Mondrega/Stevens; “Run, Man Run” (1967) as Dolores and “Night of the Serpent” (1968) also as Dolores.

Gorman, was one of England's busiest background actors from the early 1960s to the late 90s. He appeared on The Saint, Adam Adamant Lives!, Doomwatch, Fawlty Towers, I, Claudius, The Tomorrow People, Blake's 7, Minder and The Bill, to name but a few. Film credits included The Elephant Man and the 1989 version of Batman. Gorman also played the Killer in the BBC series The Nightmare Man.Gorman appeared as a sentry in the 1973 British TV Euro-western 'Hawkeye, the Patfinder'.

French actor and singer Jacques Bodoin died in Dieulefit, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France on March 8, 2019 only 18 days before his 98th birthday. Born in Dieulefit, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France on March 26, 1921 Bodoin was famous from the 1950s to the 1980s for his sketches, his participation in television and radio, his appearances in the cinema and dubbing, including of the character of Pollux with the accent "british" in "The magic carousel", Jacques Bodoin made his debut in 1945 with the “Companions of Music”. He was the dean of the songwriters, who brought a great modernity to the art of songwriting, "Jacques Mailhot, director of the Théâtre des Deux Ânes, told AFP. Bodoin had been a famous theater player until the 1980s. Bodoin was married to actress Micheline Dax who passed away in 2014 at the age of 90. Dax was the French voice of Calamity Jane in the 1971 French animated film “Lucky Luke: Daisy Town” while Jacques Bodoin was the French voice of Clem.

French composer and pianist Jacques Loussier, a great architect of the rapprochement between jazz and classical music, died Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at the age of 84, the news was confirmed by his wife Elizabeth. Loussier was born on October 26, 1934 in Angers, France. "Jacques Loussier had this idea of genius at the time to adapt Bach in jazz, and he was successful all over the world. The music of Johann Sebastian Bach swings a lot and it is maybe our first jazzman", told Pascal Anquetil, a journalist at Jazz Magazine. In addition to the work of Johann Sebastian Bach, he had also adapted other great masters of classical music such as Vivaldi, Ravel, Satie, Debussy and Schumann. He also created a recording studio in Miraval, in the south of France, where worked Pink Floyd and The Cure. His lone Euro-western credit was as composer on the 1966 West German TV film ‘Geronimo und die Räuber’.

American producer, director, writer, film and TV actor Luke Perry died March 4, 2019 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank, California, from complications of a stroke he suffered last week. He was 52. Born Coy Luther Perry III in Mansfield, Ohio on October 11, 1966. Luke had a prolific acting career on TV and in movies -- getting his start in the early '80s -- and became a household name on '90210.' After that, his career exploded. Most recently he's had a starring role as Archie's dad on CW's hit show, "Riverdale." Perry also filmed a role in Quentin Tarantino's upcoming Charles Manson movie, "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood." He appeared in a number of TV westerns including two TV Euro-westerns: “Johnson County War” 2002 as Harry Hammett and was a voice actor on the 1997-1998 animated TV series ‘The Legend of Calamity Jane’.

American model, actress, singer Lucretia Love died at her Seychelles Island home off the coast of Africa on January 9, 2019. She was 78. Born Lucretia Hickerson in Borger, Texas on March 25, 1941 she first came to the attention of legendary Austin, Texas entertainer Cactus Pryor and sold chicken on his television show. She then became Lucretia Love, a superstar of the stage and screen. Often credited under the name Lucrezia Love she appeared in thirty-six films. Her first professional film work was the 1965 Italian romantic comedy, “Love Italian Style”. Love appeared in four Euro-westerns: “Go with God, Gringo” (1966) as Carmen; “A Colt in the Hand of the Devil” (1967) as Janet; “Blindman” (1971) as one of the auctioned brides; “The Two Sons of Trinity” (1972) as Lola.

Argentina born actress, producer Christian Bach died of respiratory failure in her Mexico City home on February 26, 2019 at the age of 59. She was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on 9 May 1959. Where she obtained a law degree, but traveled to Mexico and became an actress. She participated in telenovelas in Mexico such as ‘Los ricos also lloran’ in 1979. In the series ‘Soledad’. She also worked on ‘Colorina’, ‘De pura sangre’, ‘Bajo un mismo rostro’ and most recently ‘La Impostora’ in 2014. Bach was married to producer, director, actor Humberto Zurita and was the mother of actors Sebastian Zurita and Emiliano Zurita. She appeared in one Euro-western: “Revenge of the Black Wolf” (1981) as Margaret.

British actress Sheena Marshe passed away in a care home in Kent, England where she had lived for several years. She was 83. Born Shirley Kemp in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, England in 1935 she was a British fashion model who hit the newspapers because she was a judoka trying to get into pictures. She and her husband Doug Robinson were partners in a London gymnasium. Sheena made her movie debut in the Spanish/British co-production “Pasaporta al Inferno (1956), in which she played a girl in the nightclub scenes. In Britain she was mostly seen in small television roles (e.g. ‘Educating Archie’, 1958) and commercials. In 1958 she landed an important role in the West End play The Trial of Mary Dugan, as a “know-all-about-men-girl”. When Jayne Mansfield was making “The Sheriff of Fractured Jaw” (1958) in Britain, Sheen was considered as Jayne’s stand-in but Jayne wasn’t pleased at all and the deal go through. She appeared in the play When in Rome with June Laverick and Dickie Henderson, in 1959. Marshe did some movies in the early sixties “Over the Odds”, “Dentist on the Job”, “The Frightened City” all in 1961 but never reached real fame. Sheena appeared as Kate Fisher in the 1966 British TV series ‘Doctor Who: The Gunfighters’.

American film and TV actress Lisa Seagram died on February 1, 2019 she was 82. Seagram born Ruth Browser in Brooklyn, New York on July 7, 1936 was the daughter of a New York City police detective worked as a graphic artist and as a model in New York's garment district before studying acting with Paul Mann, Herbert Berghof, Uta Hagen and Bill Hickey, then landed a small role in John Cassavetes' Faces (1959). Seagram walked into the office of Paramount studio head Martin Rackin without an appointment and left with a role as a college coed in Love in a Goldfish Bowl (1961), starring Tommy Sands and Fabian. She then played Bob Hope's French secretary in Bachelor in Paradise (1961) and a party guest in Come Blow Your Horn (1963), starring Frank Sinatra. Her film résumé also included The Thrill of It All (1963), The Carpetbaggers (1964), A House Is Not a Home (1964), Caprice (1967), 2000 Years Later (1969) and several films made in Italy. Later, she worked in commercial real estate in Los Angeles and as an acting teacher in Hawaii. She married actor Marco Fiorini and was the mother of Chela and Alisa. Seagram appeared as the saloon owner in 1969’s “El Puro” starring Robert Woods.

Latvian actor, director, former Rīga councilor and head of the Latvian National Opera Andrejs Žagars (1958-2019) passed away on February 26, 2019 in Riga, Latvia after a long illness. Born on October 16, 1958 in Krasnoyarsk, Russia, U.S.S.R. He led the Latvian National Opera from 1996 to 2013. An actor by trade, he worked at the Dailes Theater until 1994. He was an actor in a number of feature films, the chief of which was the TV drama ‘Long Road in the Dunes’. He appeared as Natt Bumppo in the 1987 Euro-western “Sledopyt” (The Pathfinder).

American production manager Clifton Brandon died on September 20, 2018, he was 91. Brando was born Clifton Allan Brandon in Fort Wayne, Indiana on January 26, 1927. He began his career as a second assistant director and gained his first experience as a production manager on ‘The Errol Flynn Theatre’ (1956-1957). He went on to work on films including “Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb” (1964) and “The Mechanic” (1972). He was a production supervisor on the 1972 Euro-western “Chato’s Land”.

Recording artist and actor Gus Backus has died. The native American died on February 21, 2019 after a long illness in Germering near Bavaria, Germany. Backus was 81 years old. In Germany, hea singer in the 1960s and 1970s, among others, with hits such as ‘Brauner Bär und weiße Taube’, ‘Da sprach der alte Häuptling der Indianer’ and ‘Der Mann im Mond’ were famous recordings. Born in Long Island, New York under the name Donald Edgar Backus on September 12, 1937, the singer came to Wiesbaden in the mid-50s as a US soldier. In addition to several chart successes in Europe, Backus also had engagements as an actor. He had his most famous appearance in the Austrian comedy film "Unsere tollen Tanten" (1961) with his ‘Sauerkraut Polka’. He was also a member of the American singing group The Dell-Vikings whose big hit was “Whispering Bells in 1957. Backus appeared as Fryer in the 1969 German TV western “Pistolen-Jenny”

Italian model, actress, singer Marisa Solinas died in Rome, Italy on February 12, 2019. He was 77. Born Marisa Anna Solinas on May 30, 1941 in Genoa, Liguria, Italy she was the sister of singer actress Maria Sole (Maria Vittoria Solinas). Marisa made her film debut as Rosy in 1968’s “Garter Colt” starring the late Nicoletta Machiavelli. She would go on to appear in over 30 films. As a singer she debuted with "Devi Impar", a piece which was also made into a widespread film in the circuit of cinebox, the forerunner of video clips. In 1973 she posed nude for the camera of Gina Lollobrigida who immortalized her as a model for her book "Italia mia". Solinas also graced for the cover of Playman. One of her last appearances was in the successful film by Alex Infascelli "Almost Blue", in 2000, based on the homonymous novel of Carlo Lucarelli. Marisa was married to Italo Panone and is the mother of David Panone. Solinas appeared in four Euro-westerns: “Garter Colt” (1967) as Rosy; “A Colt in the Hand of the Devil” also 1967 as Maya; “Killer, Adios” also 1968 as Sheila Simpson and “Blindman” (1971) as Margherita.
