Onetime teen heartthrob Tab Hunter, who starred in films like “Damn Yankees” and “The Burning Hills,” died in Santa Barbara, California on July 8, 2018.. He was 86 years old. Hunter was born on July 11, 1031 as Arthur Kelm in New York City, but grew up in California with his mother, brother and maternal grandparents. Hunter, who was known in Hollywood as “The Sigh Guy” for his blond, surfer-boy looks, died Sunday night at his home in Santa Barbara County. He died of a blood clot, according to a representative. He starred in more than 40 films, and was a big name in the 50s and 60s. He also dabbled briefly with a musical career, and continued to work into his 70s as a film producer. Hunter starred in one Euro-western: 1968's "Shotgun" as Sheriff Durango.

Italian comic actor Jimmy il Fenomeno died in Milan, Italy August 7, 2018. He was 86. Born Luigi Origene Soffrano in Lucera, Puglia, Italy he became known as Jimmy il Fenomeno and started his career in 1961 with an appearance in “Hercules and the Conquest of Atlantis”. He would go on to appear in over 150 films during the Golden Days of Italian cinema. His grimaces, dialect and the the tone of voice always made him stand out above his dialogue. Jimmy became a regular figure during the 1970s and 1980s in Italian sex comedies and was considered a lucky charm by producers and directors who insisted he had a small role if even just a cameo. Jimmy appeared in two Euro-westerns: “$10,000 for a Massacre” (1967) as a bartender and “The Longest Hunt” (1968) as a soldier in Major Doneghan's army.

Pete Richens, who co-wrote more than two dozen of the Comic Strip films, died August 6, 2018 in Devon, England at the age of 65. Born Peter Richens on August 18, 1952 in Devon, he started working with the troupe – whose core members were Adrian Edmondson, Dawn French, Rik Mayall, Nigel Planer, Peter Richardson, Jennifer Saunders and Alexei Sayle – at their live shows at the Raymond Revue Bar in Soho. There he would transcribe the comedians’ improvisations and create a coherent narrative from them. His contribution to the group’s films was overshadowed by Richardson, who was the driving force behind the Comic Strip. However, Richens co-wrote 25 of the films, from the first, 1982’s Five Go Mad In Dorset, to the last, Redtop, in 2016 and occasionally made cameo appearances, most notably as a cheerful depressive in Gregory: Diary of a Nutcase. Richens was co-writer on “A Fistful of Traveller’s Cheques” (1984).

The voice actress María Dolores Gispert, the unforgettable voice in Castilian of stars like Whoopi Goldberg and Kathy Bates, died at 84 years of age on July 21, 2018. Born in Barcelona on March 22, 1934, she came from a family of artists, the interpreter began her career as a child with locutions on Radio Barcelona, before moving to dubbing in the mid-forties, giving voice to children and young stars. She participated in these works in films as recognizable as “Treasure Island” , “The Night of the Hunter” , I confess (in their corresponding redoblajes on the occasion of its broadcast on TVE during the seventies), “Irma la duce” , “Bonnie & Clyde”, “Una lagartija con piel de mujer”, Gunfight at the OK Corral”, “Sueños de seductor”, “Grease”, “Los caballeros de la moto”, “Blade Runner” (where she dubbed Joanna Cassidy) and “The Goonies”. She dubbed a dozen or more Euro-westerns including the voice of Tiffany Hoyveld in “Ace High” (1967), Hedy Sontag in “Doc” (1971), Maris Solinas in “Blindman” (1971), Uschi Glas in “Alleluia and Sartana, Sons of God (1974), Tiffany Hoyveld in the “Ace High” 1990 Spanish DVD release.

Poster artist Macari Gómez Quibus died in Olesa de Montserrat, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain on July 20th. He was 92. Born in Reus, Tarragona, Spain on March 8, 1926, the cartoonist Macario Gómez Quibus developed an impressive career making the Spanish versions of posters of great Hollywood films such as “The Ten Commandments” and “Doctor Zhivago”, but also of Spanish films such as “El Verdugo”, “El Stroller” and “The Big Gundown” and “For a Few Dollars More plus several editions for the Sitges Festival. Mac has been recognized in his country as the last great poster designer. More than 4,000 creations, including posters, guides, press pens and video covers, testify to his great artistic skills, which he’s also received recognition in Hollywood. In 2006, Filmoteca Española paid tribute to the artist's career with an exhibition in which 75 of his best-known works were seen, recognition that was joined by all kinds of international personalities, from Charlton Heston to Kirk Douglas to Salvador Dali.

Serafino "Nino" Fuscagni, died yesterday Thursday, July 19, 2018, in Rome. The well-known actor and television host, younger brother of Charles, Rai's senior manager and director of Raiuno. He was also known by the pseudonyms "Juri McFee" and "Ray Scott". Nino was born Serafino Fuscagni in Città di Castello on February 12, 1937. His greatest popularity came from TV, from numerous dramas and television miniseries. He made his debut in the cinema in the 1960s: he mainly played b-movies (peplum, musicarelli, spaghetti westerns, comedians, police thrillers). Nino appeared in seven Euro-westerns including: “Three Graves for a Winchester” and “Who Killed Johnny Ringo” both (1968), “Black Jack” (1968) and “A Colt in the Hand of the Devil” (1973).

Yvonne Blake, designer of the iconic costumes of the 1978 box-office hit Superman, died July 17, 2018 in Madrid, Spain. She was 80. The Britain-born costume designer won an Oscar for her work on 1971 historical drama 'Nicholas and Alexandra.' Born in 1938 in Manchester, England, her early work was as an assistant costume designer and art director on Francois Truffaut's Fahrenheit 451, and as costume coordinator on the Elizabeth Taylor thriller Night Watch (1973). Her telefilm work included Onassis: The Richest Man in the World (1988), Casanova (1987), Crime of the Century (1996), and James Dean (2001). In her career, she won four Goya Awards (Spanish Oscars) and received four BAFTA nominations and two Primetime Emmy nominations. Yvonne was the costume designer for one Euro-western, 1969’s “A Talent for Loving” starring Richard Widmark, Cesar Romeroand Caroline Munro.
