Many have passed away, and while we are young growing up re-watching all these classics, many more will probably leave us. May they be remembered. Spanish actress, vedette Mary Begoña passed away at the residence where she spent the last years of her life on April 12, 2020 in Madrid, Spain. Cause of death was not disclosed. She was 95 years old. With her real name Begoña Bragas born in Bilbao, Spain on April 4, 1925, the actress could have done little in show business. So she adopted Mary Begoña. According to printed bios she was born in 1929, which was quite improbable because in 1938, according to Álvaro Retana in his Historia del Arte Frívolo, he was already working on the premises of the CNT entertainment union, and was about fourteen years old. It has been learned that she was born in 1925. She spent he career on stage but made several films including her loan Euro-western “Torrejón City” (1962) playing a prostitute.

The Barcelona actor José ‘Pepe’ Martín, the popular protagonist of the TVE series 'El Conde de Montecristo' and one of the emblematic voices of the Spanish scene, died Sunday June 7, 2020 in Madrid at the age of 87 due to heart disease, he reported to EFE the producer and distributor Concha Busto. Born José Martín Balcells aka 'Pepe Martín' was born on September 7, 1932 in Barcelona, Spain. He studied law, graduated and studied International Law in Paris for three years, where he discovered that he wanted to be an actor. He would go on to a life long career on the stage and films retiring in early 2000. He was married to actress Silvia Lagos. He appeared in only one Euro-western as Don Luis Ariola in 1963's "Gunfighters of Casa Grande".


  • THOMAS, Peter - 12/1/1925, Breslau, Silesia, Germany - 5/17/2020, Lugano, Switzerland

Film composer Peter Thomas died in Lugano, Switzerland on May 17, 2020, he was 94. He was the composer for such legendary series as "Raumpatrouille", "Derrick" and "Der Alte" as well as numerous works for films like "Der Hexer", "Der Zinker" and "Der eheimliche Mönch" or "Onkel Toms Hütte", "Thunder at the Border” and “ Steiner - The Iron Cross ”, to name but a few. He became one of the busiest composers in Germany in the 1960s. He also contributed soundtracks to several catalog films on the film label Darling Berlin of UCM.ONE by director Will Tremper ("The Endless Night", "Playgirl" and "Escape to Berlin").

He also created the film music for the horror classic " Die Schlangengrube und das Pendel" by Harald Reinl, which will be released in a remastered deluxe edition at M-Square Classics later this year. He worked tirelessly to the end - together with Walter Potganski (moviemax, Munich) - to reconstruct the previously unpublished soundtrack for a first release in this collector's edition. Thomas’ Euro-western compositions include ‘The Last Tomahawk” (1964); ‘Thunder at the Border” 1966; ‘My Friend Winnetou” (TV 1979).
