This page is our personal hall of fame. A reminder to us all that even though considered a B-genre, Spaghetti Westerns were full of great characters, played by great people. Many have passed away, and while we are young growing up re-watching all these classics, many more will probably leave us. May they be remembered. What follows, is a work-in-progress, a growing list of legends who have passed away...

Russian theater and film actor Boris Klyuyev died in Moscow, Russia on September 1, 2020. He was 76. Boris Vladimirovich Klyuev was born on July 13, 1944 in Moscow. David S. Cass Sr., a top stunt coordinator of the 1980s and 1990s, who segued to a directing career, died August 27. 2020 in Woodland Hills, California of complications from cancer. He was 78. Cass began his movie career as an extra. He transitioned to alternating between acting parts and stunt work, starting with the 1963 John Wayne film McLintock!, on which he performed stunts. He went on to become a sought-after stunt coordinator and second unit director with such credits as Smokey and the Bandit Part 3, Knight Rider 2000, Walker, Texas Ranger and the Desperado TV movie franchise. He directed the 2002 German, U.S.A. co-produced TV western film ‘Johnson County War’ starring Tom Berenger and Burt Reynolds.

Italian producer, director, screenwriter Augusto Carminito died in Naples, Campania, Italy on August 23, 2020. He was 81. He was born on July 1, 1939 in Naples. A producer and director he was best known for producing “King of New York” (1990), directing “Grandi cacciatori” (1990) and as a writer for “The Vatican Affair” (1968). To the fans of the Euro-western he was best know as a screenwriter. He co-wrote the scripts for eight Euro-westerns: “Halleluja for Django” and “Long Days of Revenge” both (1966); “Death Rides Along”; “Django, the Last Killer”; “Pecos Cleans Up”; “Poker With Pistols” and “The Ruthless Four” all in 1967 and “Brothers Blue” (1971).

Born in Cardeña, Córdoba, Andalucía, Spain on May 3, 1935, Gallardo made his name mainly as a stage actor but also appeared in some 40 films and television series such as ‘Verano azul’. He was married to actress María Jesús Lara and was the father of actress Nuria Gallardo. Manuel appeared in one Euro-westerns as Captain Burton in 1973’s “Another Try, Eh Providence?”

Mexican actress of the Golden Era of Mexican films, singer and stage director Monica Miguel died early on the morning of August 12, 2020 in Mexico City, Mexico. She was 81. Born on March 13, 1938 in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico, in pursuit of her artistic dreams on the stage, she traveled to Mexico City, there She studied theater at the academy of the Asociación Nacional de Actores. Encouraged by colleagues, she traveled to Japan and then Italy, where she worked in film, theater, and television. There she recorded her first album. Her eight-year stay in Rome gave her maturity as a human being and as an artist. She gave recitals in Greece, Cyprus, and England. After her return to Mexico, for her performances at the Insurgentes theater, in the works Vine, ví y mejor me fuí and La maestra bebe un poco, she received an award from the Unión de cronistas de Teatro (Union of Theater Critics). In 1981 she performed in "The Merry Wives of Windsor" together with Alfredo Sevilla, Tara Parra Chela Nájera among others. Italian supporting actor Nando Angelini died in Pescara, Italy on August 7, 2020. He was he would have turned 87 on August 17th. Born Ferdinando Angelini, he first appeared on screen in the 1958 film “Il segreto delle rose” directed by Albino Principe. He would continue to act in films until the late 1960's, making over 80. During this time he appeared in six Euro-westerns including his biggest role as George in “Colorado Charlie” using the alias Fernand Angels. He was also billed under the aliases Nick Angel. Most of his parts were character roles as henchmen and gang members. His Euro-westerns include: “A Dollar of Fear” 1960 (Spiritual); “The Magnificent Three” 1961 (bandit leader); “Colorado Charlie” 1965 (George); “Mutiny at Fort Sharp” 1965 (Confederate soldier);‘Questa sera parla Mark Twain’ (TV) 1965 (Steve); “Renegade Gunfighter” 1965 and “A Golden Sheriff” 1966 (town official).

German supporting actor Fred Stillkrauth died in Munich, Bavaria, Germany on August 8, 2020. He was 81. Fred Stillkrauth was one of those actors who, despite engagements at the Kammerspiele or the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel, were happily classified as a supporting actor, on the one hand, they lived quite withdrawn in their private lives and, on the other hand, on the stage and in front of the camera were great supporting actors. Paco Catalá the Valencian actor who began activity in the late 1960s and remained in film and TV until the 2010s. He was among the thugs Paul Naschy ejected at the start of “The Franchman’s” ("He stood up to you, Ricardo. Why didn't you do anything?"), appeared in numerous softcore films and even in a few hardcore films (!), but the mainstay in his career has been playing cops, hoodlums, fences, drug dealers, outdoor vendors, cabbies and other street types. The cap shows him as the unsavoury desk policeman in Grau's “The Hunting Ground”. Paco appeared in three Euro-westerns: “Al oeste de Río Grande” (1983); ‘The New Zorro’ (TV) – 1990, 1991, 1992 [Lancer Perez); “Sons of Trinity” (1994) as Porfirio.

Animator of cartoon films, a long-term member of the Polish Filmmakers Association, Andrzej Piotr Morawski, died on August 6, 2020 in Warsaw. He was 72 years old. Andrzej Piotr Morawski was born on May 6, 1948 in Wałbrzych. He graduated from the Secondary School of Fine Arts. For years he was associated with the Studio Miniatur Filmowych. He has made several dozen animated films and series, such as "Safari", "Akcja las," Airport "," Sad "," Opera No. 23 "," Daktyle "," Jacek i Placek "," Eden "," Tower "," Miś " fantasy ". Morawski was an animator on “Asterix in America” (1994).

A high school dropout who turned a gift for storytelling, a fascination with characters and a romance with tabloid newspapers into a storied career as a New York journalist, novelist and essayist for more than a half century, died from the results of a fall he took on Saturday August 1st. Mr. Hamill became a celebrated reporter, columnist and the top editor of The New York Post and The Daily News; a foreign correspondent for The Post and The Saturday Evening Post; and a writer for New York Newsday, The Village Voice, Esquire and other publications. He wrote a score of books, mostly novels but also biographies, collections of short stories and essays, and screenplays, some adapted from his books. He wrote the 1971 Euro-western ‘Doc’ starring Stacy Keach and Faye Dunaway.
