This page is our personal hall of fame. A reminder to us all that even though considered a B-genre, Spaghetti Westerns were full of great characters, played by great people. Many have passed away, and while we are young growing up re-watching all these classics, many more will probably leave us. May they be remembered. What follows, is a work-in-progress, a growing list of legends who have passed away...

  • CELEA, Şerban - 6/10/1952, Bucharest, Romania – 8/20/2020

Romanian actor Şerban Celea died on August 20, 2020, at the age of 68, the Romanian Theater Union announces. Born on June 10, 1952, graduated from the College “St. Sava ”from Bucharest and the Institute of Theater and Cinematographic Art, class of 1975, in the class of teacher Sanda Manu. He started his career as an actor at the “George Bacovia” Dramatic Theater in Bacău (1975-1976), he continued at the Giuleşti Theater (today Odeon) between 1976-1979, the Comedy Theater (1979-1994), the Bulandra Theater (1994- present). For the most part, Celea has appeared in horror and action films released directly to the video, such as My Enemy’s Enemy , Witchouse II: Blood Co. and The Prince of Darkness: The True Story of Dracula. He has also appeared in Steven Seagal ’s Attack Force and Jean-Claude Van Dammen’s Second in Command and Assassination Games. Serban appeared in two Euo-westerns: “Phantom Town” (1997) as a cowboy and as the bartender in “Aliens in the Wild, Wild West” (1999).

Polish theater, film, TV and voice actor Andrzej Gawronski died in a Warsaw, Poland hospital on September 4, 2020. He was 85. Born in Warsaw on Febrauary 2, 1935. He appeared on the stage of theaters, but he died not avoid films and TV productions, including dubbing. He appeared in four Euro-westerns as a voice actor: “Old Surehand” (1965); “The Halfbreed” (1966); “Bolek and Lolek in the Wild West” (1986) and Lucky Luke - Go West – 2007.


  • KLYUYEV, Boris (Boris Vladimirovich Klyuyev) - 7/13/1944, Moscow, Russia, U.S.S.R. - 9/1/2020, Moscow, Russia

Russian theater and film actor Boris Klyuyev died in Moscow, Russia on September 1, 2020. He was 76. Boris Vladimirovich Klyuev was born on July 13, 1944 in Moscow. On the stage of the Maly Theater, he began to appear in extras while still a fourth-year student, and after graduation he received an invitation to his troupe. Among the most famous film roles of the actor are Mycroft Holmes, the Count of Rochefort in “D’Artagnan and the Three Musketeers”, Nikolai Petrovich in the sitcom “The Voronins”. He appeared in one Euro-western as Cameron Brody in the 1993 TV series ‘Alaska Kid’.


  • CASS, David S. ((David Stanley Cass) - 1942, U.S.A. - 8/28/2020, Woodland Hills, California, U.S.A.

David S. Cass Sr., a top stunt coordinator of the 1980s and 1990s, who segued to a directing career, died August 27. 2020 in Woodland Hills, California of complications from cancer. He was 78. Cass began his movie career as an extra. He transitioned to alternating between acting parts and stunt work, starting with the 1963 John Wayne film McLintock!, on which he performed stunts. He went on to become a sought-after stunt coordinator and second unit director with such credits as Smokey and the Bandit Part 3, Knight Rider 2000, Walker, Texas Ranger and the Desperado TV movie franchise. He directed the 2002 German, U.S.A. co-produced TV western film ‘Johnson County War’ starring Tom Berenger and Burt Reynolds.

Italian producer, director, screenwriter Augusto Carminito died in Naples, Campania, Italy on August 23, 2020. He was 81. He was born on July 1, 1939 in Naples. A producer and director he was best known for producing “King of New York” (1990), directing “Grandi cacciatori” (1990) and as a writer for “The Vatican Affair” (1968). To the fans of the Euro-western he was best know as a screenwriter. He co-wrote the scripts for eight Euro-westerns: “Halleluja for Django” and “Long Days of Revenge” both (1966); “Death Rides Along”; “Django, the Last Killer”; “Pecos Cleans Up”; “Poker With Pistols” and “The Ruthless Four” all in 1967 and “Brothers Blue” (1971).


  • GALLARDO, Manuel (Manuel Gallardo Lechet) - 5/3/1935, Cardeña, Córdoba, Andalucía, Spain - 8/21/2020, Madrid, Madrid, Spain

Spanish actor Manuel Gallardo Lechet died in Madrid, Spain on August 21, 2020. He was 85. Born in Cardeña, Córdoba, Andalucía, Spain on May 3, 1935, Gallardo made his name mainly as a stage actor but also appeared in some 40 films and television series such as ‘Verano azul’. He was married to actress María Jesús Lara and was the father of actress Nuria Gallardo. Manuel appeared in one Euro-westerns as Captain Burton in 1973’s “Another Try, Eh Providence?”


  • FERRANDO, Giancarlo - 11/4/1939, Rome, Lazio, Italy - 8/13/2020, Rome, Lazio, Italy

81. Ferrando was a highly respected producer, production manager, director, writer, cinematographer, cameraman and actor. Born in Rome on November 4, 1939 he worker with such directors as Lucio Fulci, Umberto Lenzi, Lamberto Bava Claudio Fragasso and Sergio and Luciano Martino. He was involved in nine Euro-westerns: $10,000 for a Massacre – 1967 [cameraman]; The Longest Hunt – 1968 [cameraman]; The Silent Stranger – 1968 [screenwriter]; Heads or Tails – 1969 [cameraman]; The Buzzards and Crows Will Dig Your Grave – 1971 [cinematographer]; Gunman of 100 Crosses – 1971 [cameraman]; God in Heaven... Arizona on Earth – 1972 [cinematographer]; Dallas – 1974 (co) [cinematographer]; Buck at the Edge of Heaven – 1991 [producer, director of photography]
