Welcome to Spaghetti Westerns! A series of books devoted to the Italian westerns. Within each volume, we will have a look at the Italian western genre. This series of books will go beyond the Sergio Leone films to celebrate the genre as a whole. After the success of Sergio Leone's A Fistful of Dollars in 1964, a sputtering western genre exploded and helped changed the cinematic landscape forever. After over five hundred films, the genre finally died an unceremonious death in 1978. But for a genre that was so maligned during its initial life, its critical appreciation has found newfound heights in recent years. Join me as we peel back the surface layer and dig deeper into the Italian western genre! This book is not a genre encompassing book. This series of books will be quite random and will have varied subject matters. This series of books will be quite random and will have varied subject matters.
