Colmenar Viejo is a located 35km north of Madrid. The Dehesa De Navalvillar, is located nearby and it is here that many Spaghetti Westerns and other movies have been shot. It is a natural area located in the municipality of Colmenar Viejo, Madrid. It is located in the foothills of the Sierra de Guadarrama, protected to the north by the San Pedro hill.

It has featured in the epic movies El Cid and Spartacus. The Lega-Michelena western village was located here but now its ruins lie beside a milatary base.
