Trivia

Enzo Barboni had used a script that Alfonso Sansone had told him as the basis for "Lo chiamavano Trintà". Barboni would have used it without asking permission, thinking that the Sancrosiap production company had gone bankrupt. Bud Spencer, in order to avoid legal action, had offered himself as a free interpreter for a film produced by Sansone. This information was confirmed by Ernesto Gastaldi in an interview given to Marcello Vicini in the book "I fagioli comunque... erano uno schifo".
Ernesto Gastaldi, urged by Sansone who had just closed the agreement with Barboni and Spencer, wrote the story in three hours, together with Maurizio Lucidi, on the beach of Sperlonga.
Coburn calls his horse "Broncone" in Italian, in the German dub it's Uncle Willi.

Versions and runtimes

Runtime: 109 min

German "comedy" version (aside from being a funny dub) is cut by about 15min. Some earlier VHS versions were longer, but also cut in different places.
