Synopsis

During the last months of the Civil War, Joe's brother is killed unjustly by Clifford, a captain in the Northern army. Joe decides to join a group of Southerners determined to resist till the end. Joe is considered an outlaw and a reward is posted for his capture. When the war ends, Joe returns to the farm where he used to work only to find Christine, the owner's daughter and his sweetheart, engaged to the hated Captain Clifford.

At minute 25:25 (may vary depending on the version you watch) we can see a special effect from 1967. It is a scene that brings together the two main locations. The Capannacce compound (also known as Villa Mussolini) is shown superimposed on the road that crosses the Camposecco plateau.

The film was shot mainly in two locations, often used by SWs, in the province of Rome.
Evan's ranch and villa is the Capannacce compound in Settecamini. The compound still exists, but has dramatically changed.
All the exteriors with rocky and mountain landscapes were shot on the Camposecco plateau, in the municipality of Camerata Nuova.
